Beginning Paper Piecing - $17 - CLASS CANCELLED
Taught by Sylvia Lewis
This class will teach beginning paper foundation piecing techniques. We will start simple with a tree block and progress to the more complicated house block. I will have other blocks to go with them, flowers, an animal or two, etc. This is intended as a basic technique class, the student can take the blocks and make a small quilt, or just take the technique and feel that something new has been learned.
The only special tool is an Add-a-quarter ruler. It is optional, but very helpful.
Conquering Curves - $17

"Conquering Curves" is a chance to learn a new skill that will serve you well in the future. especially when using so many new and contemporary fabrics. Lots of possiblities to look forward to.

This is the first quilting class that I taught. It has been one of my "bread and butter" classes over the years. A fun, easy quilt as you go project. Great for using leftover pieces of batting. If hearts aren't your thing, you can use stars, leaves, circles or any simple shape. A zig-zag capable machine is needed for this class.

Quick Strip Paper Piecing - $17

A new method of a current technique! I learned this method of paper piecing from national teacher Peggy Martin at the Empty Spools Seminars in Asilomar, CA last fall. It is faster than "regular" paper piecing, and virtually foolproof. If you've been frustrated by paper piecing in the past, you will love Peggy's method. The spinning star is my own design.

Lawless Log Cabin - $17

A classic block from the past creates a modern art-type quilt. Create a landscape of your choice with old-fashioned prairie braid strip panels. My quilt depicts the desert and red cliffs of Southern Utah. Yours could be the Rocky Mountains, a rolling farmland, or even the seashore. Although it looks complicated, it's actually very easy.
Kits available upon request in colors similar to the sample.

Bring your own Louis to life and make him "presentable" with a removable woolly fleece coat and cap. You will learn the basics of stuffed animal construction as well as some tips on inserting the dreaded zipper. Louis is a great "present" for the lamb lover in your life. They will share many hours of long meaningful conversation about Louis' many loves: playing piano, knitting socks from his own wool, long walks on the beach, and clover salad. He is a very deep gentleman.

Stripey sashing in the alternate blocks make this simple little quilt sparkle. If you have Layer Cakes or Nickel Squares, this is the perfect quilt to use them.

Come learn how to make a couple of "comfort" gifts. They are quick, easy and fun to make! We will learn how to make a Bug in a Rug for the little one in your life and a Faux Hot Water Bottle for those lazy, chilly days. As you can see, the bugs pictured have been well-loved!
The kit fee includes everything to make one hot water bottle and one bug in a rug and I'll include several other ideas for quick, inexpensive gifts.
