March Table Topper - Seasons Gone Pie - Spring

Fabric Needed:
Kite               1/6 yard of 4 fabrics 
 
Cutting Instructions:
 1.  Background
     Cut 1 - 5 1/2" strip.  Cut into segments:  2 - 5 1/2" (set aside rest for template)
    Using template 1 (page 30), cut 2 and 2 reversed.
    Cut 2 - 3" strips.  Cut into segments: 2 - 10 1/2", 8 - 3".
    Cut 3 - 2 1/2" strips.  Cut into segments: 2 - 24 1/2", 2 - 20 1/2", 2 - 4 1/2".
    Cut 1 - 1 1/2" strip.  Cut into segments: 2 - 14".
  
 2.  Kite
    Cut 1 - 5 1/2" strip.  Cut into segments:  2 - 5 1/2" (set aside rest for template).
    Using template 1 (page 30), cut 1 and 1 reversed of each fabric.
 
Sewing Instructions:
2.  Kite Tops 
   Mark diagonal lines on back of 2 - 5 1/2" background squares.
   Lay marked squares RST on kite fabric squares.  Stitch 1/4" on both sides of lines.
   Cut on lines.  Press.  Trim to 5" x 5".
4.  Construction
   Stitch 1 1/2" x 14" background piece to right side of kite.
 
Also,
 
*The piece on the diagram (p. 9) on the right side of the kite should only go to the bottom of the kite and the piece below the kite should be under the kite as well as the small background piece.

There was a misprint on the cutting instructions for the December Table Topper.  It should read:

Page 9 - Cutting Instructions:

  From remainder of 5" strip, cut 4 - 1 1/2" x 5".

Ashley's Journey - Piece of Pie

There should be an additional diagram at the bottom of page 39 (the bottom one that says make 35 underneath) to show you that you can put the blocks together in reverse as well (mirror image).  The quilt pictured in the book has 17 blocks as in diagram and 18 that are a mirror image. 

Please note that it doesn't matter how the blocks are put together.  They can be all the same or some can be reversed.  The rows will still be put together the same and there will not be any seams that match up (other than the corners of the blocks).
